Offshore wind farm, Sprogø On behalf of marine contractor Aarsleff, SMIT was involved in the construction of the new Sprogø Offshore Windfarm, west of Copenhagen. The project called for the participation of SMIT’s semi-submersible transportation barge Giant 4. The 24,000 tons capacity barge was deployed for the fabrication and transport of the turbine foundations for the Sprogø windfarm. Giant 4 acted as a floating construction platform
